Scientific training of pedagogical stuff of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University within the program Erasmus + in Greece

Within the program Erasmus + with National and Kapodistrian University of Athens lecturers of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University: MykhailoVideyko, Head of Research Laboratory of Archeology and Sergiy Golovanov, Associate Professor of the Chair of World History Faculty History and Philosophy had the opportunity to participate in scientific training at partner university during the period from 24.04 to 30.04.2017 year.

During the week-long scientific training Mykhailo Videyko gave lectures to students of prehistory and archeology of Greek university, worked on materials in academic libraries and attended the conference of local researches of antiquities and cultural heritage guards.

While the program of academic mobility Sergiy Golovanov had analyzed of pedagogical experience of the Department of Archeology and History, and had teaching practice.

Students and teachers of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens gladly listened to lectures by M. Videyko and S. Golovanov, deepening their knowledge about the history of Ukraine. Within one week stay in Greece, our university colleagues also acquainted with the organizational structure of the foreign university and established a lot of scientific contacts.

On the initiative of Head of the Chair of Romance Philology – Rusudan Makhachashvili, Professor of the Chair – Salvatore Del Gaudio and supported by the SRL of Internationalization of higher education, for students of specialty "Philology (Italian Language and Literature)" was organized guest lectures by Professor of the University of Genoa Laura Salmon. Series of lectures was devoted to theory and practice of Italian-Ukrainian translation and urgent problems in the practice of Italian language translation.
Professor Laura Salmon is a world-renowned expert on the theory of translation, the author of numerous fundamental researches, scientific and educational works. At lectures and workshops students and pedagogical staff of the Institute of Philology had the opportunity to study a generative model of translation and numerous examples of unique translation solutions:
• Theoretical questions of translation Slavic language texts in Italian.
• Onomastics and its translation in Italian.
• Examples of translation realities Slavic language in Italian.
• Translation of proper names in Italian.
• Workshop of translation in Italian.
Unique lectures united future professionals, teachers of the Institute of Philology and invited experts of translation.

Round table "Youth, peace and security"

On April 24th, 2017 in Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was held a round table "Youth, peace and security" (resolution №2250 United Nations Security Council), which was co-organized by NGO "Federation of Women for Peace in the world".

The event started with a musical greeting – the song "Red Cranberry". Greeted the participants Vice-Rector on Science of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University – Nataliia Vinnikova, Vice-Rector on Social and Humanitarian Affairs – Taisiia Belofastova and Head of public organization "Federation of Women for Peace in the world" – Tetiana Koceba.

During the round table were presented the next speeches: Ludmila Porohniak-Hanovska, Head of the National Council of Women of Ukraine, MD, professor, who revealed meaning of №2250 resolution United Nations Security Council for the youth movement in Ukraine. Moriko Hori, president of Federation of Women for Peace in the world of Japan, who told about youth organizations in Japan; Ruslan Kutsyk, Head of the Scientific Society of students, doctoral students and young scientists Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, who outlined the main trends of youth policy in Ukraine and others.The round tablealso participated Minako Sugita, International Chief Director of the joint association of the Federation of women for peace throughout the world Saitama Prefecture; Omori Nobuko, Deputy Director of the Cultural Center "San" Japan, Head of the charity foundation "One thousand cranes".

We thank all the participants of the event for active debates and fruitful discussions. One of the practical results of the round table was the initiative of the Scientific Society of students, doctoral students and young scientists of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University on translation Ukrainian of resolution №2250 "Youth, Peace and Security" United Nations Security Council.

Oberhof (Germany)

Alona Popova had a two-weeks training "Refugees in the European network" supported by the European Erasmus+ programme in Oberhof (Germany) from 25 March to 9 April 2017. Alona is the Head of the Scientific Society of Students, doctoral students and young scientists of the Institute of Human Sciences of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

The project was organized in the form of two weeks of union initiatives and ideas of young people from four countries: Germany, Romania, Belarus and Ukraine.
During the training, Alona studied the system of government and non-government organizations of refugees and the experience of United Europe on migration.

She held a series of workshops on social and educational support refugees and migrants, stressing the importance of youth resource in the system work with refugees and migrants in Europe. In addition, the evening training session Alona Popova devoted to building a positive approach to life for young people coping with migration in the modern society.

 

Seminar for pedagogical staff, PhD and doctoral students “International grant programs: opportunities for research"

SRL of internationalization of higher education and School of project management of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University organized seminar for pedagogical staff, PhD and doctoral students of the University devoted to actual problem of searching grant programs for research and internships.

At the seminar werecoordinators of popular international programs and organizations: Nikolai Ushakov, coordinator of "Marie Curie Actions for developing skills, training and career" at national contact points in Horizon 2020 in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; Inna Barysh, deputy director of the Fulbright Program in Ukraine, coordinator of the exchange program for young scientists and students; Oksana Lando, scholarship programs coordinator Campus France Ukraine. Also, scientific workers of SRL of internationalization of higher education (Olena Humeniuk and Yuliya Korgunyk) prepared presentations about grant opportunities for different specialties. The event was supported by the Vice-Rector on Science Nataliia Vinnikova, who also moderated the workshop.

We are grateful to all colleagues who attended the seminar and wish to all inspiration in writing the individual and collective grant applications!

International teleconference with students of Seton Hall University (New Jersey, USA)

On 4th April 2017 Eighth International teleconference was held via Skype between master students in history of Seton Hall University, New Jersey, USA (supervisor Professor Daly D.K.) and master students in history of the Faculty of History and Philosophy Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University (supervisor Associate Professor Tarasenko O.O.).

Eighth International teleconference was devoted to Ukrainian historians’ report on the implementation of their part of USA-Ukrainian scientific-research project "Research on the history of Ukrainian diaspora in the example of New Jersey state through digital technologies in the humanities".

Ukrainian team of historians, consisted of master students Ivan Glaz and Daria Olejnik and supervisor of the project from Ukraine, PhD in History, associate professor of the Chair of the History of Ukraine Olga Tarasenko reported the results of the study Ukrainian and English.

In aconducted project Ukrainian team revealed kinds of Ukrainian migration and concluded that prevails in Ukraine external migration, revealed the historical reasons for migration of Ukrainians as well as internal and external factors of Ukrainian migration; pointed out the factors that lead to the formation of the Diaspora; found a difference between the concepts of "emigration" and "diaspora" and different interpretation of the concept of "Ukrainian Diaspora" and illustrated its division into western and eastern and its four waves.

The logical culmination of the project was the study activity of 60 Ukrainian-American organizations established by Ukrainian diaspora during the four waves in the state of New Jersey.

Third International Scientific Conference "Professional Art Education Art and Culture: Challenges of the XXI century"

30-31 March 2017 in Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University hosted the Third International Scientific Conference "Professional Art Education and Culture: Challenges of the XXI century".

At the conference was presented Lithuanian-Ukrainian collective monograph "The development of spiritual education", which was the result of academic cooperation of Lithuanian and Ukrainian scientists Marius Yanukonis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Ukraine; Jurgis Hyedris Cultural Affairs of Lithuania and Viktor Ogneviuk, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University greeted the authors of collective monograph and participants of the Conference.

Among international guests were: Jonas Kevishas,  Doctor of University of Educational Sciences (Lithuania) Wojciech Markvitsa, professor of Institute of Music of Jagiellonian University (Poland); Jadwiga Ukhila-Zroski, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Arts of University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland); Alexandra Zeman, professor of the Faculty of Arts of University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland).
