Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University has been implementing the educational project "Waldorf Pedagogy" in the partnership with the International Association for Waldorf Pedagogy in Middle and Eastern and other Eastern Countries since 2006. "Waldorf education is a humanistic approach to pedagogy based on the educational philosophy of the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner.The first Waldorf school was opened was founded in 1919 in Stuttgart, Germany."

The aim of the project is to provide a two-year course in Waldorf Pedagogy for students of Borys Grinchenko University majored in Pedagogy. This year the third group of students of our University were awarded certificates for the successful graduation from the two-year international program "The Introduction to Waldorf Pedagogy".

On September 25, 2013 Viktor Ogneviuk, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, had a meeting with Christoph Johannsen, Head of the International Association for Waldorf Pedagogy in Middle and Eastern and other Eastern Countries. The topic of the meeting was the discussion of future cooperation between the parties and to explore the opportunities to include the course on Waldorf Pedagogy into the curriculum of the Master's program in Education.
The International Association for Waldorf Pedagogy in Middle and Eastern and other Eastern Countries currently organizes and supports over forty teacher training courses each year. The main focus of the work lies in further qualifying Waldorf teachers who participate in cycles of courses covering several years. Additionally, the IAO workers advise teachers already employed within Waldorf Schools in such issues as lesson planning, curriculum development and questions arising from school self-administration. By doing this, the IAO seeks to promote the independent existence of Waldorf Schools under the cultural, social and economic conditions of their respective countries.

Project coordinator is Liudmyla Volkova, Senior Lecturer of the Institute of Arts, Department of Fine Arts.
