Summer Leadership Academy

Students and staff of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University participated in the program of Summer Leadership Academy (USA, Oregon) within the Servant Leadership project that the University carries out together with Marshall Christensen Foundation “Co-Serve International” (USA).

Within the project 15 University students had a 40-hour course on leadership and a distance educational and consulting course with personal mentors that lasted 4 months. By the results of their studying the best students were invited to participate in the program of Summer Leadership Academy (USA, Oregon).

Summer Leadership Academy program is an international annual 16-day course that is aimed at the development of leaders. During the Program its participants have a chance to get acquainted with the activity of different organizations – from non-profit organizations to powerful companies such as Intel First Fruits of Washington, Medical Teams International that function on the principles of respect, trust, development, improvement and share servant leadership principles.

This year within the Academy the representatives from Ukraine and Kazakhstan have discussed modern leadership problems in their countries and in the world.

The Program participants met with representatives of large and small businesses, including the leaders of AKT Financial Consulting.

The Program participants visited the office of Intel and met with senior scientific consultant Rick Kowlson.

In First Fruits of Washington company the program participants visited the manufacturing department and talked to staff and their families.

The company Medical Teams International welcomed the program participants together with Good News clinic and involved them into one of their social projects.

This year 3 students of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University took part in the program. They are 3rd year students in the Humanitarian institute – Anastasia Doceko and Olena Romaschenko, as well as the head of English philology department Valentyna Yakuba.

On the last day of the Program during the graduation ceremony the representatives from Ukraine gave their sincere thanks to the program organizers and sponsors.
