Education

- In 1987 graduated with honors from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in the specialty “Biochemist - Teacher”;

- in 1993 graduated from the Interdisciplinary Institution of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining at Lviv Polytechnic National University and obtained the qualification of "Economist - Manager";

- completed training programs at Warsaw and Columbia Universities, conducted research on the problems of reforming education system;

- in 2005 presented the thesis on "Trends in Decentralization of Basic Education Management in Modern Poland" and obtained PhD in Pedagogy, specialty 13.00.01 - General Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy.

Professional Experience

- 1987-2006, held the following positions: Biology Teacher, Deputy Director on National Education at Lviv Secondary School № 7; Deputy Director on Educational Work at Lviv Specialized School № 53 with Advanced Study of English; Headmaster of Lviv Specialized School № 28 with Advanced Study of German; Senior Lecturer at the Management Department of the Institute of Economics and Law "Krok"; Director of the Test Technology Center at International Renaissance Foundation;  Director of the Ukrainian Center for Quality Assessment of Education;

- 2006-2008 – Director General of the Head Department of Education and Science at Kyiv City State Administration;

- 2008-2012 - Lecturer at the Institute of Leadership in Educational Legislation and Policy at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine;

- 2012-2016 - Member of Parliament of Ukraine of VII-VIII convocations, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education;

- 2016-2019 - Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
