Presentation of "Poemas y canciones" by Juan Manuel Marcos: the first bilingual edition of Paraguayan poetry translations into Ukrainian

The Institute of Philology hosted a presentation of the first bilingual edition of Paraguayan poetry by Juan Manuel Marcos "Poemas y canciones" translated by students and teachers of Romance Philology and Typology the Department in collaboration with the University of Del Norte, Paraguay.

Yuliya Shtaltovna (PhD) and Vita Bosa, the Romance Philology Department’s creative moderators and editors, managed the translation project, events and activities.

Rusudan Mahachashvili, Doctor of Philology, the Head of the Romance Philology and Typology Department, emphasized the importance of such project and result-oriented translation practice, where students during their studies may already become the authors of unique content and expand the Ukrainian translation literary field.

Igor Protsenko, associate professor at UniNorte and Head of Slavic Languages and Cultures Center in Asuncion, Paraguay praised the accuracy and poeticity of the Ukrainian translations, and focused on paraguayisms and Paraguay's cultural concepts in the original texts by Juan Manuel Marcos.

The colleagues of Romance Philology and Typology Department and Translation Department applauded students who translated a poetry collection by Juan Manuel Marcos and were happy to see the embodiment of their interesting, challenging and persistent creative work.
