Cooperation with Queen's University Belfast. Day 3

The third working day of Grinchenko University researchers at Queen's University Belfast began with a brilliant and substantive report by Viktor Zvonar, Doctor of Science in Economics, who in his presentation covered all aspects of losses for national urbanism, labour market, economy, environment and their consequences for Europe. The topic was continued by Dr. Merav Amir, a representative of the School of Natural and Built Environment, a structural unit of the host university.

The second session of the workshop was devoted to the work of non-governmental organizations, volunteers and civic activists. The Ukrainian experience was presented by Olha Vyhovska and Iryna Mankovska. In close cooperation with Ihor Reiterovych, Programme Director of the Ukrainian Centre for Social Development, the staff of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University prepared a comprehensive report on the role of NGOs in public policy, problems and challenges caused by the war, and priority areas for the development of volunteer activities and NGOs in the future. The delegation was joined by Viktoriia Vdovychenko, who is currently in the UK conducting research at the University of Birmingham.

Colleagues from Queen’s University Belfast, Dr. Teresa Degenhardt (School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work) and University of Dublin, Dr. Fiona Murphy (Assistant Professor in Refugee & Intercultural Studies and Programme Chair MA Refugee Integration), presented the results of their research and experience in regulating the activities of volunteer groups and NGOs.

The identification of priorities for further cooperation was one of the most important aspects of the interuniversity dialogue.
