Wojciech Marchwica - musicologist, Polish philologist, organiser, manager. Studied musicology and Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University and received his Ph.D. in musicology in 1994. Since 2013 has been working as the Deputy Director of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw.
In 1992 he worked as the Executive Director of the European Cultural Month in Krakow. Between 1997 and 2001 he was the Coordinator and administrator of musicological TEMPUS project - Creating of MBM Study System in Musicology.
Between 1998 and 2001 he was appointed director of the Jagellonian University Jubilee Office responsible for all activities of 600th Anniversary of the Refoundation of Krakow Academy.
Since 2008 he has been cooperating with the Perspektywy Educational Foundation.
Dr. Wojciech Marchwica gave lectures at many foreign universities: in Kiev, Indiana University in Bloomington, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester).
In September 2013 the academic staff and students of the Institute of Arts had an opportunity to attend lectures of Dr.Wojciech Marchwica at our University.
He presented series of lectures about different music styles (acapella, concertato and vociferous choral style), historical performance of the musical excerpts and methods of their performance in different centuries. Academics and students listened to the artistic heritage of Fryderyk Chopin, Stanislaw Moniuszko and other world famous polish composers.
