Tokyo University, Japan
Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University students of the educational program "Language and Literature (Japanese)" - Anastasiia Kharchuk (6th year) and Kateryna Kudinova (4th year) began their semester studies under the academic mobility program at Toyo University, Japan.
On October 11, 2023, our students met with the President of Toyo University, Ms. Etsuko Yaguchi, who congratulated our students on the start of their internship and wished our students success in their studies.
On the occasion of the start of their studies at the partner university, our students shared their impressions:
“I have always been fascinated by Japan for its culture, architecture and literature. Since childhood, I have been familiarizing myself with this country and had a desire to visit it. So I was very happy when I got the opportunity to study at Toyo University. Before the beginning of the academic semester, international students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the city of Tokyo. In this short time, I have already visited many places and even attended a festival. As for studies, Toyo University has a wonderful qualified staff who are attentive to the needs of students. It's really incredible to learn Japanese with native speakers. My goal now is to successfully complete a semester of study at Toyo University and also to get a master's degree at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. And as much as I like Japan, I would prefer to return to Ukraine and work on its recovery. I wish all the students to study hard and achieve their goals! ! 頑張ってください!” (Anastasiia Kharchuk, 6th year)
“I'm excited about Japan! Society, education, culture, architectural monuments - all this is so different from Ukraine, but at the same time you feel very comfortable here. Personally, I love how Tokyo can be different, comparing the center to the outskirts, but everywhere there is something special, incomparable and unique. The autumn semester at Toyo University has already started, all the subjects are very interesting and the teachers are always ready to help. I also like intercultural communication with students from different countries, so we have a chance to tell about our country, the challenges that Ukrainians are facing now, in the period of a full-scale invasion, and of course to glorify Ukraine with their knowledge and achievements!” Kateryna Kudinova (4th year)
On behalf of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, we sincerely thank Toyo University for the support and the opportunity for Grinchenko University students to improve their knowledge of Japanese.
