Collegium Polonicum (Slubice / Frankfurt am Oder)
On September 03-09, 2023, the Summer School "START-UPS, TRANSFER AND DIGITAL STUDIES" was held in Slubice / Frankfurt am Oder, at the initiative of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) and European University of Viadrina (Germany).
The Summer School training was held at Collegium Polonicum in Słubice. This is a joint scientific and didactic platform of two partner universities: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and European University Viadrina in Frankfurt am Oder, founded in 1992. This institution is a form of joint cross-border research work. The main task of the Collegium is to work in favour of scientific and cultural cooperation between Poland and Germany.
Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was represented at the Summer School by Oleksandra Hondiul, a 2nd year PhD student majoring in Journalism, lecturer at the Department of International Journalism at the Faculty of Journalism.
The Summer School training included research on the peculiarities of education in Poland and Germany, excursions, lectures on digital technologies and start-ups, intercultural workshops, and language courses (Polish and German). In addition, a trip to Berlin was organized for the School participants to meet with Phineo Startups, an organization that trains and brings together impact start-ups that solve one of the problems: War against Ukraine, Climate Change, Challenges to Democracy, Migration. Representatives of Phineo Startups also talked about their system for measuring the impact of projects/activities/start-ups, as well as presented the features of their business program. Phineo Startups in Berlin are located in the buM ecosystem, which represents companies and organizations that are involved in finding solutions to today's crisis challenges.
The Summer School participants also visited cultural institutions in Frankfurt am Main that were created in response to a request for a cultural community in the city and that implement various social projects, hold creative workshops and events, and are engaged in charity - the Kukuryku and KulturManufaktur spaces.
Based on the knowledge gained during the Summer School training, Oleksandra Hondiul will conduct a practical workshop for the Scientific Society of Grinchenko University on interesting aspects of Polish and German education, as well as on the peculiarities of creating start-ups.
