On 26 October 2023, the Academic Council of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University approved an interim report on the results of the implementation of the scientific research of the Department of Preschool Education at the Faculty of Pedagogical Education "Training of Future Specialists in Preschool Education for Psychological and Pedagogical Support of Early Childhood Development" (registration number 0121U113725; deadline: 2021-2026).
In the process of implementing the scientific research at the first analytical and fact-finding stage (2021-2022), the essence and structure of the basic concept of the study were determined; the criteria, indicators and diagnosed levels of readiness of future preschool education specialists to provide psychological and pedagogical support for the development of young children were characterised; the requests of practitioners (educators and educators-methodologists) of preschool education institutions in Kyiv and parents for psychological and pedagogical support for young children during the war were studied.
At the second prognostic and modelling stage (2023-2024), the content and methodological support was defined as a system of interaction between a teacher and a student, which includes, in addition to methodological equipment (curricula and work programmes, methodological developments, didactic aids), such components as testing and implementation of effective models, methods, technologies. Twenty-four programmes of academic disciplines and practices and the ETCs were developed. In the areas of the prognostic and modelling stage, technologies that allow students to master the skills to act in crisis conditions were introduced. Reflective practices and effective communication practices, a toolkit of environmentally appropriate behaviour skills, and handmade eco-technology skills, which often allow a child to replace any toy and many other tools in times of war, were used. The author's developments on the research topic have been implemented in the practice of Kyiv preschool education institutions, in particular:
- health protection of young children;
- sensory and cognitive activity;
- basics of artistic and creative activity;
- formation of speech competence of young children;
- formation of the basics of social and civic competence of young children, etc.
The results of the research have been implemented in the educational process of pre-school and higher education institutions and presented during pedagogical and educational activities - in the series of webinars "Lapbook of Professional Success", the thematic segment of the online platform "University of Parenting"; tested at round tables, conferences, workshops, etc.
The results of the research implementation for the period from December 2021 to October 2023 were highlighted in 41 articles, including 8 in publications indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, 4 chapters of collective monographs, 3 manuals, 16 conference abstracts and presented at joint events at the international, national and regional levels.
Further steps in the implementation of the research outcomes are as follows:
- testing the content and methodological support for the training of students majoring in 012 Preschool Education for the implementation of psychological and pedagogical support for the development of young children in the educational process of a higher education institution;
- verification of the effectiveness of the tested content and methodological support for the training of future specialists in preschool education for psychological and pedagogical support of the development of young children.
