From 12 to 18 November 2023, Tetiana Rudenko, methodologist of the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Research, Scientific Projects and Programmes, member of the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, Doctoral Students and Young Scientists of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, took part in the international summer school "Students Involvement in University Life", which was organised at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland) as part of the project "Uniwersytet Jutra II" (POWR.03 .05.00-00-Z303/18).

In general, students, graduate students and young scientists from 26 higher education institutions of Ukraine joined the work of the school.

The programme of the summer school included meetings with the Vice-Rectors Joanna Wójcik and prof. Rafał Witkowski, a series of lectures, during which the participants learnt about:

- history, structure, main activities of Adam Mickiewicz University and Alliance of European Universities EPICUR, aimed at creating a European University (Dr Kostiantyn Mazur);

- the structure and main activities of the Postgraduate Council, challenges and prospects for its development, opportunities for cooperation with other higher education institutions and the need for young scientists to participate in scientific events, grants and scholarship programmes (MSc. Maciej Dymczyk, Maria Tomys);

- the structure and development prospects of the Student Council at Adam Mickiewicz University, students' project activities and the work of scientific clubs (Vladyslav Serhiienko, Wojciech Krzyżaniak);

- the benefits and prospects provided by the participation of university students in the Erasmus+ academic mobility programmes and the pan-European student organisation Erasmus Student Network (ESN), which promotes intercultural communication between young scientists around the world;

- interaction of the university with students through the Education Support Centre (Dr Marek Sobczak).

Representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions actively participated in all the events and shared their experience in organising the work of students, postgraduates, doctoral students and young scientists at their universities.

All participants of “Students Involvement in University Life” summer school received certificates, which were solemnly handed over by Vice-Rector prof. Rafał Witkowski at the Welcome Centre of Adam Mickiewicz University.

We express our gratitude to Adam Mickiewicz University for the opportunity to learn about the Polish experience of including students, postgraduates and young scientists in university life, and we hope for further cooperation between students, postgraduates, doctoral students and young scientists of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and the leading higher education institution of the Republic of Poland.
