The First Vice-Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Liliia Hrynevych, at the invitation of the University of Helsinki, took part in the international conference "Reimagining teachers and teachers education for our future", which took place from June 18 to 20 in Helsinki, Finland.
The event brought together leading universities from Finland and other countries to discuss the future of teaching profession and the key role of teachers in building the critical, cross-cutting skills needed for our future.
Liliia Hrynevych participated as an expert in the panel discussion "Rebuilding the Ukrainian education together". Among the invited speakers were the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, professors and students of the University of Helsinki, as well as the Head of the Teacher Education Forum and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.
The purpose of the panel discussion was to discuss and examine the needs of Ukrainian education in the wartime and post-war periods in order to provide effective international assistance and support. The First Vice-Rector focused on the challenges Ukrainian education has been facing since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and outlined the most important needs that should be addressed by international organizations, in particular. Special attention was paid to the role of teachers and their professional training in the context of implementation of the "New Ukrainian School" reform and modern challenges.
