Guest lecture by Professor Jelena Jurišić “Modern Journalism: Case of Croatia”

On May 3, 2024, a guest lecture by Jelena Jurišić, Professor of Communications at the University of Split, was held on “Modern Journalism: Case of Croatia”

Jelena Jurišić is currently Assistant Professor in communication sciences on Study of communication and media of the University of Split. She is author more than 25 articles and editor of two books. Her courses cover journalism, print media, history of communication studies, media theories, digital media, social media and geopolitics. In addition, her current research interests include influence of social media on journalism, trust in the media, political campaigns in mass media and on social media, covert advertising and digital journalism.
The following issues were depicted at the lecture: the history of Croatian journalism; the formation of Croatian media systems, digital media; the functioning of television, radio, network journalism; print media published in Croatia; trends in advertising; the formation of media corporations and freedom in the media.
The lecture was attended by students of the International Journalism and International Media and Digital Communications study programs.
