From September 18 to 20, 2024, the academic staff of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University - Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Olena Aleksandrova, Professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology Tetiana Kostiuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Historical and Civic Education at the Institute of In-Service Training Olha Dudar - visited Oslo Metropolitan University (Norway), in particular the Department of Primary and Secondary Teacher Education.
During the visit, the scholars took part in a number of meetings aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation, new joint research and projects. Agreements were reached on the prospects for developing cooperation in the context of researching complex issues of history, democratization of education and civic education; holding an international seminar on the role of education in post-conflict societies; writing joint research articles and implementing grant projects; and organizing pre-COIL in academic disciplines.
Following the meetings with Hege Knudsmoen, International Coordinator of the Department of Primary and Secondary Teacher Education, and Ranveig Jørgensen, Head of the Department of Internationalization of Higher Education and Collaborative Research at Oslo Metropolitan University, it is planned to establish cooperation between the universities within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
This visit outlined new promising areas for future Ukrainian-Norwegian university cooperation.
