Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, from November 18 to 25, 2024, academic mobility took place at the University of Palermo (Italy) for the teachers of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology - Head of the Department of Germanic Philology, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor Rusudan Makhachashvili, Head of the Department of Romance Philology, PhD in Philology Anastasiia Kopytina and Associate Professor of the Department of Romance Philology Anna Bakhtina.
At the invitation of Professor Marianna Zummo, Rusudan Makhachashvili gave a series of lectures for postgraduate students and undergraduates of the University of Palermo on “Digital Language Data Processing”, “Transformative Digital Linguistics, Communication and Digital Humanism in Times of War” and “AI-enhanced linguistic research”; Anastasia Kopytina and Anna Bakhtina presented the lectures on “Linguistic sense generation in e-space” and “Language of emoji: sense generation and disambiguation”.
Moreover, within the framework of the mobility program, fruitful meetings were held with representatives of the Department of Academic Programs and International Exchanges of University of Palermo to initiate a memorandum of cooperation and expand the framework of cooperation between philologists from Grinchenko University and University of Palermo within the framework of the COST Action, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe consortium projects.
