On December 3, 2024, at a meeting of the Academic Council of the University, an interim report on the results of the implementation of the research theme of the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the Faculty of Information Technologies and Mathematics “Mathematical Methods and Digital Technologies in Education, Science, and Technology” (registration number: 0121U111924; deadline: June 2021 - June 2026) was approved. The results of the study were presented by the head of the research theme Iryna Mashkina, Head of the Department of Computer Science, PhD, Associate Professor.

Scientific research is implemented in three main areas:
1. “Mathematical and computer modeling” - focuses on the development of mathematical methods, mathematical and computer models, as well as their further implementation in applied fields.
2. “Hardware and software of information and analytical systems” - involves the development of principles of automation, management and efficient operation of information and analytical systems.
3. “Theory and practice of building an ecosystem for digitalization of education” - includes the substantiation and creation of models for the use of digital technologies in education.
Each of these areas is aimed at solving current problems and has significant potential for practical application.
During the period of implementation of the research topic, the following were published: 134 scientific articles, 36 of which are in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases; 8 chapters in collective monographs; 3 textbooks; reports at international and national scientific and practical conferences; 9 certificates of copyright registration for a work, one patent for a utility model were obtained.
The practical significance of the research results is supported by active cooperation with scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, business institutions and educational institutions in the format of regular consultations and scientific and practical seminars aimed at solving urgent problems in the areas of research.
The results of the research were implemented at the Institute of Environmental Geochemistry at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Bogomolets Institute of Physiology at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The results of the scientific research were implemented in the educational process of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University through the implementation of the topic in the dissertations and qualification works of applicants for the first (bachelor's), second (master's) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education; annual updating of the curricula of academic disciplines, development of educational components for new editions of educational and professional programs of the first (bachelor's) level “Informatics”, “Mathematics” and educational and professional programs of the second (master's) level "Information and Analytical Systems" and "Mathematical Modeling".
