On January 17, 2025, at the invitation of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Mr. Ma Shengkun, the representatives of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University took part in an official reception to mark the beginning of the diplomatic mission of the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine and celebrations on the occasion of the Chinese New Year - Spring Festival.
The University was represented by the Acting Rector Oleksandr Turuntsev, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Nataliia Vinnikova, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Languages Ivan Semenist, members of the Faculty of Oriental Languages administration, teachers of the Department of Chinese Language and Translation and students of the Language and Literature (Chinese) educational program.

At the event, Grinchenko University delegation was the largest among Ukrainian higher education institutions, which is a testament to the University's important role in training Chinese language specialists and future experts on Chinese studies.
On the occasion of the beginning of diplomatic mission in Ukraine, University officials congratulated the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine, Mr. Ma Shengkun, on the beginning of his work in Ukraine and, taking this opportunity, invited Mr. Ambassador to pay an official visit to Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.
During the festivities, University representatives discussed areas of cooperation between the institution and foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine and agreed to implement a number of joint projects.
