
On November 11, 2025, as part of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, the Faculty of Psychology, Social Work, and Special Education at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University held the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Design of Inclusive Education: Successful Ukrainian and International Practices.”
The event was moderated by Olena Martynchuk, Head of the Department of Special and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Psychology, Social Work and Special Education at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Doctor of Рedagogy, Professor (Ukraine).
The conference participants were addressed with an opening speech by Nataliia Klishevych, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Social Work and Special Education at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, PhD in Education, Associate Professor (Ukraine).
During the plenary session of the conference, the following speakers delivered their presentations: Natallia B Hanssen, Professor in Special Needs Education Nord University, PhD (Kingdom of Norway); Katarzyna Wesierska, professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice, President of the Logopedic Center, DrHab. (Republic of Poland); Joanna Szymczakowska, lecturer at the University of Silesia in Katowice, speech-language therapist (SLT) at the Logopedic Centre Foundation (Republic of Poland); Nataliia Yarmola, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, PhD in Education, Senior Researcher (Ukraine); Tetiana Skrypnyk, Professor at the Department of Special and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Psychology, Social Work and Special Education at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Doctor of Psychology, Professor (Ukraine); Zoriana Leniv, Director of the International Institute of Inclusion, Associate Professor at the Department of Speech Therapy and Innovative Technologies in Inclusion, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, PhD in Education, Associate Professor (Ukraine); Olga Jauer-Niworowska, Professor at the University of Warsaw, DrHab (Republic of Poland); Marlena Kurowska, lecturer at the Department of Speech Therapy and Voice Emission at the University of Warsaw, Doctor of Philosophy (Republic of Poland). Conference participants also watched a video message from Sanna Ryökkynen, Principal Research Scientist, HAMK Edu Research Unit, HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences, PhD (Republic of Finland).
The results of the plenary session were summarised by Nataliia Vinnikova, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, Head of the Academic Council at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor (Ukraine).
After the plenary session, the conference continued with sectoral discussions.
In total, more than 250 participants from Ukraine, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Norway took part in the conference.
