Within the week of the Institute of Humanities the department of Advertisement and Public Relations held a press conference “Modern Library in the Information Space” on February 21.
Conference participants:
- Vylegzhanina Tamara Izmailivna – Director General of the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine, Cavalier of Princess Olga’s Order of the third grade, the Deserved Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
- Skorokhvatova Alla Vitaliivna – Director General of the National Historical Library of Ukraine.
- Saprykin Georgiy Anatoliovych – Director of the State Library of Ukraine for Youth.
- Romanyuk Olga Ivanivna – Deputy Director of Lesya Ukrainka Public Library.
- Zotova Viktoriya Anatoliivna – Director of Borys Grinchenko University Library.
- Ostrikova Natalya Vasylivna – leading bibliographer of Kyiv Regional Library for Children.
The conference was attended by students of the following majors: “Bibliology, library science and bibliography”, “Advertisement and Public Relations”, “Librarianship”, pedagogical and library staff.
The topic of the press conference gave a possibility to expose the strategy of transforming libraries from traditional institutions into dynamic information centers, prioritizing a wider use of national and world information resources. Further aspects in development of libraries have been outlined, those, concerning their role as important cultural institutions and information centers.
The students took active part in the conference, posed questions that interested them.
The press conference “Modern Library in the Information Space” triggers the development of projects that benefit the state and encourage democracy in society.
