From 22 September 2025 to 12 February 2026, first-level (bachelor's) students of the Faculty of Law and International Relations at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, specialising in International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies, the educational programme in Public Communications, Polina Tkachenko, and the educational programme in Regional Studies, Daria Shcherbakova, completed a semester of study at the University of Zagreb (Republic of Croatia, Zagreb) under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme.
As part of the academic mobility programme, students successfully mastered 24 ECTS credits in four specialised disciplines at the Faculty of Political Science: Politics and Society in South-Eastern Europe, Pop Politics, Religion and Politics in the Middle East, Interest Groups and Lobbying in the European Union. The courses provided a thorough analysis of the historical background to the formation of the current status quo in the Middle East, the history and current relations between the countries of South-Eastern Europe and the European Union, as well as the mechanisms and points of influence on the decision-making process in the EU. The training involved guest lecturers and a range of interactive working methods.
The participants emphasised that taking part in the programme had been a valuable experience of professional and personal transformation: "Participating in the academic mobility programme allowed us to significantly deepen our professional knowledge in the field of political science and familiarise ourselves with the latest European practices. In addition to academic achievements, the Erasmus+ programme gave us the opportunity to meet active young people from different countries, join in the rich student life of Zagreb, and travel around the Republic of Croatia and neighbouring countries, discovering new cultural horizons".
Participation in the academic mobility programme allowed Polina and Daria to deepen their professional knowledge in the field of political science, meet young people from a number of countries around the world, get involved in student activities, and travel around the Republic of Croatia and its neighbouring countries.
