On 12 March 2026, an information session with representatives from the Kyiv office of the Institute of International Education / Fulbright Program in Ukraine was held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. The event focused on current opportunities for study and internships in the United States of America, supported by one of the most prestigious academic exchange programs.
Inna Barysh, Deputy Director and Coordinator of the Fulbright Academic Exchange Programs in Ukraine, was the speaker at the meeting.
During the event, participants were introduced to a wide range of grant programs available to Ukrainian researchers and students, including:
- Fulbright Graduate Student Program (Master’s degree programs);
- Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program (Ukrainian language teaching internship);
- Fulbright Research and Development Program (conducting research and developing training courses);
- Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program (research opportunities for scholars).
A key part of the event was a presentation by lecturers from Grinchenko University, fellows of the program – Halyna Morozova (FLTA 2024–2025, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) and Mykhailo Pylynskyi (FGSP 2018–2020, The University of South Florida), who shared their own experiences of studying and teaching in the US, the specifics of intercultural communication, and highlighted professional opportunities after completing the fellowship.
Inna Barysh provided a detailed overview of the conditions for participating in competitions, the criteria for selecting candidates, and the specifics of compiling the application package. Particular attention was paid to practical advice on how to succeed in interviews and complete application forms, as well as to the requirements regarding academic integrity and the scientific justification of projects.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which researchers, lecturers, PhD students and undergraduates from Grinchenko University had the opportunity to receive personalised consultations on the prospects of participating in Fulbright programs.
