Maryna Medvedieva, a second-year student of the “Organization Management” educational programme at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, has successfully completed her studies under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme at Ovidius University of Constanța (Romania), which took place from 16 March to 16 June 2026.
As part of the programme, the student had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in key areas of management and economics by completing a range of courses, including Business Communication and Correspondence in English, Finance, Financial Accounting, Sales Management and Comparative Management.
Particular interest was sparked by the course “Comparative Management,” which provided new perspectives on understanding management models in different countries. Analyzing differences in approaches to business process organization, managerial decision-making and organizational culture development enabled the student to reassess the role of international experience in modern management and identify directions for further professional growth.
Studying in a fully English-speaking academic environment became an important stage in the development of both communication and professional competencies. Continuous practice in business communication, participation in academic discussions, and completion of practical assignments in English contributed to increased language confidence and the development of effective intercultural communication skills — essential qualities for today’s management professionals.
In addition to its academic component, the mobility programme provided an opportunity to explore Romanian culture and gain insights into the country’s social and economic environment. An important part of this experience was a visit to Bucharest, which offered a deeper understanding of Romania’s historical, cultural and business context.
Participation in an international mobility programme is much more than studying abroad. It is an experience that fosters independence, adaptability, openness to new challenges and the ability to work in diverse environments. Future participants are encouraged to improve their English-language proficiency in advance, as strong language skills facilitate faster adaptation, active engagement in the learning process and full utilization of the opportunities offered by international experience.
Academic mobility is not only about acquiring new knowledge, professional skills and an international certificate. It is also an important stage of personal and professional development that helps students better understand their potential, broaden their horizons, and take a confident step toward a future career in the global professional arena.
