The Academic Council of the University approved the report on the results of the research project conducted by the Department of Personality Psychology and Social Practices, Faculty of Psychology, Social Work and Special Education, entitled “Psychology of Constructive Personality Behavior in the Transformation of Social Relations” (State Registration Number: 0121U1120431923; implementation period: June 2021 – June 2026). The research findings were presented by the project leader, Svitlana Mykolaivna Kalishchuk, Head of the Department of Personality Psychology and Social Practices, Doctor of Science in Psychology, Professor.

The research project was implemented in three stages. During the first (analytical-synthetic) stage, the main research perspectives were identified. The theoretical foundations for the study of constructive behavior were substantiated, including values, spirituality, morality and personality realism. Specific domains of constructive behavior were delineated, the sources and mechanisms of their formation were analyzed and the consequences of non-constructive behavior were projected. During the second (theoretical-practical) stage, the factors underlying the psychology of constructive personality behavior were investigated. The concepts of an individual’s realistic relationship with the world, as well as the phenomena of freedom, responsibility, coping strategies and mental states, were analyzed. The structural and functional content of the phenomenon of “constructive behavior” was clarified and substantiated and the value-semantic, spiritual and mental mechanisms underlying the formation of constructive behavior were identified. During the third (integrative and finalization) stage, the theoretical and practical findings of the study on the psychology of constructive personality behavior were systematized. Based on the results obtained, multidirectional psychological support programs aimed at fostering constructive behavior among citizens and professional groups of different ages were developed and tested. These programs were implemented in the form of psychoeducational activities, psychological education initiatives, training courses, developmental programs, psychotechnical protocols, practical algorithms, psychological correction programs, and psychological rehabilitation programs.

During the implementation of the research project: 1) the theoretical and methodological framework of the key constructs was further developed and refined, including “constructive behavior,” “psychology of constructive behavior,” and “transformation of social relations”; 2) a research toolkit for assessing and diagnosing the state of an individual’s constructive behavior was developed and validated; 3) the structural and functional content of the phenomenon of “constructive behavior” was identified and substantiated; 4) the categorical characteristics of the phenomenon of “transformation of social relations” were determined;  5) the structure of the life space of Ukrainian civil society was established, and its diverse resources and capacities were characterized.

During the implementation period of the research project, the following scholarly outputs were produced: 111 articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals; 37 articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases (including 1 publication in a Q1 journal and 1 publication in a Q2 journal); 2 single-author monographs and 3 collective monographs; 5 textbooks and study guides; 12 teaching and methodological manuals and workbooks; and 50 articles and conference abstracts co-authored with students. The results of the research project were presented in 61 papers delivered at international conferences and 35 papers delivered at national academic conferences. A comprehensive partnership network was established at both the inter-institutional and inter-university levels. Inter-institutional partnerships were developed with the G. S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology, the Institute of Social and Political Psychology, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the NGO La Strada–Ukraine, Trinity Hub, the Institute of Rehabilitation and Social Technologies, the Ukrainian Organization for Psychological Support, the Masha Foundation, the Ukrainian Child Wellbeing Fund, Recovery During War, Veteran, the Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
