The Academic Council of the University approved the final report on the outcomes of the research project conducted by the Department of Educology and Psychological and Pedagogical Sciences of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education, entitled “Innovation in the Development of Higher Pedagogical Education in an Interdisciplinary Dimension” (Registration No. 0121U000123; project duration: February 2021 – February 2026). The research findings were presented by the project leader, Professor Liudmyla Khoruzha, Head of the Department of Educology and Psychological and Pedagogical Sciences, Doctor of Science in Pedagogy, Professor.
The research project was implemented in four stages. During the first (analytical and informational) stage, the results of the analysis of approaches to the issue of innovation in teacher education were synthesized; the genesis of the concept was examined; and the phenomenon of interdisciplinarity was explored. During the second (theoretical and modeling) stage, the components of innovation were substantiated, and a conceptual and prognostic model for their implementation was developed. During the third (generalization and forecasting) stage, the findings of the empirical research were systematized; effective innovative practices were identified and summarized; and didactic and methodological support aimed at enhancing university teachers’ readiness for innovative activity was developed. During the fourth (reporting) stage, the collective monograph “Innovation in the Development of Higher Pedagogical Education: From Theory to Practice” was prepared, along with the final project report and supporting documentation.
As part of the implementation of the research project, the following outcomes were achieved: further conceptualization of the phenomena of innovation and interdisciplinarity within the academic and educational domain was undertaken; neoclassical methodological approaches to the development of innovative ideas and practices were substantiated; a prognostic model for the implementation of the components of innovation in the development of higher teacher education at the university, grounded in interdisciplinarity, was designed; the content of new pedagogical disciplines was developed, and existing curricula were revised and enriched with innovative components; two new innovative educational programmes were launched and successfully accredited: “Educational Design and Coaching in Adult Education” and “Corporate Education and Personnel Development”; an electronic platform “EduNova” was created to facilitate the exchange of innovative educational practices among educators in the capital city.
During the implementation of the research project, the academic staff of the Department participated in the innovative international project “Career Development Counselling in Ukraine (CARE)” coordinated by Häme University of Applied Sciences (Republic of Finland). The research findings were also piloted and disseminated at Ignatianum University in Kraków (Republic of Poland) and subsequently integrated into the educational process of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.
Over the course of the project, the following scholarly outputs were produced: 47 articles published in Ukrainian peer-reviewed academic journals; 20 articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases; 1 monograph; 2 educational and methodological manuals.
The results of the research project were presented in 50 papers delivered at international and national academic conferences.
Within the framework of the research project, six dissertations were successfully completed.
