On April 19 the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Great Britain, Simon Smith, paid a visit to our University.
Among those, participating in the meeting were the Director of the British Council in Ukraine Martin Dowel, the Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Viktor Ognevyuk, Deputy Director of the British Council in Ukraine Natalia Vasylyuk, manager of projects Viktoriya Ivanishcheva and Lyudmyla Tatsenko, Director of the Institute of Humanities at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Olena Bondareva, Head of the Scientific Research Laboratories for international projects Galyna Vdovychenko and the Head of the Department of English Philology Valentina Yakuba.
The meeting with the ambassador was set up within the framework of the annual international conference “Uninterrupted Education of Teachers: Modern Tendencies of Professional Skills Improvement for Foreign Language Teachers”. The conference was organized by the British Council in Ukraine, the Ukrainian department at the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language and Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.
During the meeting the following issues were discussed: skills improvement for teachers of the English language; pilot project in improving English language skills for teaching staff; student and teaching staff exchange
