On May 29, 2013 the round table “Youth as a Resource of the State’s Modernization Strategy” took place at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. The event was organized by the students and professors of our University and the department of sociology of the Institute of Humanities at National Aviation University.

The participants of the round table were addressed with a word of greeting from the pro-rector on scientific, pedagogical, social and humanitarian work at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Associate Professor Taisiya Yuriivna Belofastova and from the head of the department of sociology at National Aviation University, Associate Professor Olena Andriivna Homeriki.

In the modern society youth, undoubtedly, remains the driving force, that has an immense influence on the social life of Ukraine, that can define new priorities and tendencies of development in the fields of economy, politics, in social and cultural spheres. Thus, the round table was focused on the issues timely for modern youth, such as: what strategy does modern youth choose? development of leadership skills; issues concerning social insurance for youth in Ukraine; youth as one of the components of the country’s image. The students prepared presentations that were actively discussed by the participants.

As a conclusion, T. Yu. Belofastova emphasized that youth is a driving force that forms the future of a country. The study of issues of the youth, its role in the social life of a country is significant for successful development of a country. O. A. Homeriki suggested a round table, dedicated to the same problem, should be held on the basis of National Aviation University
