On April 17, 2014 academics and students of the Institute of Human Sciences of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University participated in the International Conference under the patronage of Ukrainian Charity Forum.
Olga Bezpalko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor and Director of the Institute of Human Sciences of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Tetiana Liakh, Associate Professor of the Chair of Social Education and Social Work, Diana Volkivska, Head of the Educational Technologies Department and University students took part in the International Conference "Charity as an Instrument of Social and Political Changes".
During the plenary session Andrew Rogers, Consultant in the Sphere of Social Partnership (UK) presented a new social approach. It is rather widespread in most European countries and its main purpose is based on working 'with' people, but not 'on' people. Andrew Rogers has distinguished two notions. The first is 'social values' – each project has to have the same effect in social, ecological, economic and health care spheres. The second notion is connected with "assets, which are based on the community development".
Academics and students participated in round tables "Benefactors, Country, and Reforms: Cooperation in Achieving Changes", "Mass Media and Charity: New Era – New Opportunities", "Assessment of Charity Needs is the Key to the Effectiveness of Charitable Activities", talk show "Benefactors: Should be Born or Is it Possible to Become? How to Transfer the Charity Gene?"
