Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University together with British Council in Ukraine organized a lecture on higher education in Great Britain for our students from the Humanitarian Institute. Students had a great chance to talk to Barbara Kelhar, professor of the University of Westminster (London, Great Britain) and asked her a lot of questions.

Barbara Kelhar presented the educational system of Great Britain and pointed out the Master degree programs especially of the Humanitarian circle. According to the results of the Center of Society Research in 2012 – 2013, nearly 905 Ukrainian students became the freshmen in the British higher educational institutions. During the last five years this number has increased up to 41%.

Students were also interested in the short term educational grants programs. Flexible terms of application give them an opportunity to get a grant from two weeks till one semester. Cultural heritage, the history of London and business English are taught in the Summer Schools.

Barbara Kelhar had her first visit to Ukraine and was very pleased to see the hospitality of our students. In addition, we need to mention that for our students it was a chance to practice English language with native speaker.
