The ranking of higher educational institutions is one of the most important tools to improve the quality of education. Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is one of the most respected rankings in the international educational environment. It is focused on the assessment of the university’s presence online, the impact-factor of the university’s publications on the world scientific progress, "the popularity" of the university web-resources.

University educational activities as a whole is not the subject of such ranking, instead it focuses on universities representation in the Internet, which is determined by a special technique, developed by Berlin Principles on Ranking of Higher Education Institutions designated by UNESCO. The results of Webometrics Ranking in July 2015 show that Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University reached the 29th place out of 295 universities of Ukraine which are ranked worldwide.
