1. Scientific and research work in the sphere of Social Communication Journalism and Mass Media. Holding large quantity of scientific conferences of different levels - international, Ukrainian-wide and interuniversity. Students of the Faculty are traditionally winners of all-Ukrainian contests of scientific works, olympiads and festivals.
2. Teaching and methodological work. The organization of educational process at the Faculty of Journalism is carried out according to the practically oriented learning approach at educational programs.
3. Social and humanitarian activities. Students are actively involved indecision making process regarding social and humanitarian issues:

• solving scholarship issues, providing material assistance and awardingstudents;
• organization and holding cultural events;
• cooperation with Student's self-government council; organization of work of creative clubs.

4. International activity. The Faculty of Journalism at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University maintains broad international relations, cooperates with many teaching and scientific institutions of the world.
