On June 3-10, 2018, within the framework of the project "Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments" (MoPED) of the EU Erasmus + KA2 Program – Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education, № 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP a series of master classes and workshops were conducted for the representatives of Ukrainian universities. The staff at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia prepared informative materials and practical exercises.
Among the representatives of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University working group in Cyprus there were: Morse N.V. - project coordinator at the University, Vice-Rector for Informatization of Education, Scientific and Management Activities, Doctor of Sciences in Pedagogy, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vasylenko S.V. - Deputy Head on Content and Research of Research Laboratory of Informatization of Education, Gladun M.A. - senior lecturer of the Department of Information Technologies and Mathematical Disciplines of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Management, Vember V.P. - associate professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Mathematical Disciplines of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Management.
In the course of training the participants got acquainted with the educational system of the Republic of Cyprus, the structure of the educational process, research work at the University of Cyprus. The training included a series of workshops and practical training sessions:
• "Thinking Outside the Box" or "The Black-box Activity"
• "Using Go-Lab to Promote Learning Based on Research"
• "Education with Technologies in a Higher School"
• "Tools for Student Practice",
• "Computer Applications for Teaching Science in Elementary School".
The participants have studied the experience of Cypriot colleagues in using the Phet.Colorado platform and the Graasp environment for the introduction of digital technologies in mathematical education, teaching science at elementary school. They have also learned how to use the Blackboard electronic education platform to manage an online course.
All activities were useful and informative. The lecturers demonstrated innovative methods and technologies in arranging work with students, shared interesting educational resources for developing skills of the 21st century and modernizing the educational process.
