On September 17, 2018 the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, headed by the Vice-President of the Academy, Deputy of the All-China People's Congress, Professor Li Peilin, was hosted at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. Within the framework of the Delegation's program, the opening ceremony of the Center of Chinese Studies and Confucius Class at Grinchenko University was held with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine.

Viktor Ogneviuk, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Roman Greba, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Du Wei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine, Vasyl Kremen, President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine took part in the celebrations.
As a part of the event, the Agreement on the Establishment of Center of China Studies was signed between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.
