On November 13, 2018, the International Conference on the issues of reforming teachers training education "New Generation Teachers: Secrets of Success " was held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. The conference was held within the framework of the project "New Generation School Teacher ", which was implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the British Council in Ukraine at 13 institutions of higher education, including Grinchenko University.

In the course of the project, a model curriculum for teaching English as a basis for student-centered, practice-oriented learning with the development of competencies of the 21st century was set up. Grinchenko University has been successfully implementing this program for three years, actively contributing to the formation of a new generation teacher, ready to work in a new educational paradigm.
The conference was opened by Viktor Ogneviuk, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University; Pavlo Hobzei, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine; Simon Williams, Director of the British Council in Ukraine.
During the plenary session "World Practices for the Training of Future Teachers", among the keynote speakers were Samantha Twiselton, Director of Sheffield Institute of Education at Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and Arto Vaahtokari, Head of the project "Finland’s Support to the Ukrainian School Reform " (Republic of Finland). Viktoria Ivanishcheva, British Council Education Project Manager in Ukraine was a moderator of the opening and plenary session.
After the plenary session, the conference was continued by the Discussion Panel "New Generation School Teacher and the New Ukrainian School: Together or in Parallel? ". It was moderated by Natalka Moseichuk, journalist, TSN 1 + 1. Deans, Heads of the Departments, teachers and students who have been implementing this project for three years took part in the discussion panel. All conference participants had the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion.
The International Conference on the issues of reforming teachers training education "New Generation Teachers: Secrets of Success " was completed by a number of creative workshops and demonstration sessions.
