International Conference “New Pedagogical Approaches in STEAM Education”

On September 26 and 27, 2019, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University hosted distinguished guests and partners - participants of the International Conference "New Pedagogical Approaches in STEAM Education" held under the project "Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education through the Use of Innovative Teaching Instruments" (EU MoED) + CA2 - Higher Education Capacity Building, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.

Faculty representatives from all partner universities of the project participated in the conference:

Viktor Ogneviuk, Professor, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy, Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and Ihor Tsependa, Professor, Doctor of Political Science, Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University addressed the participants with welcoming speeches.
Speeches by invited international experts Ton de Jong, Professor, Head of the Department of Methodology in Educational Technology, University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands and Jan M. Pawlowski, Ph.D., Professor of Information Systems for Business, Institute of Informatics, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany aroused interest and meaningful discussion. The participants were interested in learning the world's leading ideas on active teaching in pedagogical and natural sciences, the Go-Lab ecosystem for STEAM innovative education, digital transformation, and how to organize their professional lives in the age of digitalization.
Ukrainian geography of the event covers cities and towns from different regions from Ivano-Frankivsk to Luhansk region, from Chernihiv to Odesa. Teachers from schools of Bila Tserkva, Brovary, Chernihiv, Sumy, Korosten, Vinnytsa, Zhytomyr, Fastov, Khmelnytsky joined the training. Staff of methodological offices, centers of scientific creativity from all over Ukraine also took an active part in the event.
Svitlana Shytikova, Director of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine, recognized the high level of organization of the conference and announced opportunities for new cooperation with the leading universities of the European Union.
On the second day of the conference, more than 100 participants attended two lines of parallel trainings from project partners - scientists and teachers.
The staff of SRL of Informatization of Education, SRL of Internationalization of Higher Education, RMC for Information, Advertising and Career Guidance, EPW of TV Journalism at the Institute of Journalism; RMC for Publishing Activities; RMC for Research, Scientific Projects and Programs; Maintenance and Technical Department, all project participants under the guidance of the project coordinator from Grinchenko University Nataliia Morze, Doctor of Sciences in Pedagogy, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Professor of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Management, provided a high level of the events, prepared technological souvenirs in tribute to the conference, devoted to the latest world trends - STEAM education.
