Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University

On 15-16 November, 2019, the Second All-Ukrainian Scientific and Methodological Seminar of Chinese Language Teachers was held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. It was attended by more than 80 participants from Ukraine and the People's Republic of China.

The seminar was organized by the Department of Education and Culture of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Confucius Institute at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Confucius Institute at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, as well as Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages № 1.

On November 15 the seminar was opened by: Viktor Ogneviuk, Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, and Wu Lianwen, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine.

During the plenary session the keynote speakers from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Beijing) presented their speeches: Ge Daoshun, Professor of the National Institute of Social Development; Zhang Hong, Professor of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia; Wu Ying, Associate Professor of the National Institute of Social Development; Zhu Tao, Associate Professor of the National Institute of Social Development; Ma Feng, Associate Professor of the National Institute of Social Development.

The main part of the event was moderated by Wang Dajun, Head of the Department of Education and Culture, First Secretary of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine and Ivan Semenist, Head of the Department of Oriental Languages and Translation at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. The event outlined the current state and prospects of learning and teaching the Chinese language in Ukraine.

On November 16 a panel discussion took place.
