Special achievements

Natalia Sira received her medical degree in Uzhhorod State University in Ukraine and worked in oncology for 13 years. In 2003, she ontained her PhD in Human Development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. In 2004, she moved to East Carolina University, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Sira's research focuses on understanding human health and behavior in a holistic and systematic way that takes into account the role of both mind and body, using both medical and human development research expertise. Dr. Sira is active in professional societies such as the National Council on Marriage and Family Relations and the Society for the Study of Adult Life. Among many other honors, Dr. Sira received the Outstanding Professional Service Award from the National Council on Family Relations in 2013 and 2018.   

        On June 09, 2017, Natalia Sira gave a guest lecture for the students of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University on the trends in the development of science in the United States, the peculiarities of American universities, the principles and mechanisms for awarding academic degrees and academic titles to scientists, as well as on the publication activity of East Carolina University faculty.
