Scientific activity at the Faculty is carried out by 4 departments that train bachelors and manners, who, in accordance with the requirements of university education, are actively engaged in scientific and practical research and have relevant publications.

Student take part in the work of scientific circles.

Such scientific circles work at the University:

  • Club of social communication “Interactivity”;
  • “Creative Science”;
  • “Informal media education”.

Tasks of the scientific group “Interactivity”:

  • prepare students for the “Advertising and public relations” to the competition of scientific works;
  • participation of students from the “Advertising and public relations” in all Ukrainian and international advertising festivals.

Scientific work of the group and achievements of students:

  • conducting open lectures by guest professors;
  • advertising festival “Scotch Fest”;
  • the participants of “Interactivity” are winners of All-Ukranian festival-competition social advertising “UKRAINE IS ONE!”, International festival of social advertising “Another new”, Ukranian Student Advertising Festival; IX International open student communication forum “PR-kvetka”;
  • winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works and Olympiads.

Tasks of the scientific groupCreative Science:

  • help in formation of students’ personalities as researchers of the media industry;
  • development of creative thinking of future specialists in the field of journalism;
  • organization of students’ participation in scientific conferences, forums, etc.;
  • involvement of group participants in holding round tables, open educational seminars, business games, festivals, etc.;
  • assisting students in publishing scientific articles and theses of reports.

Scientific work of the group and achievements of students:

  • preparation of the festivals “Book Fashion”, “Smart Blog”;
  • development of the scenario of the business game “Market of ideas” for sensory marketing of the book;
  • victories at the 1st stage of the competition of student research papers on printing, publishing house "Youth and Printing",
  • victories in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works;
  • victories at the ll stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the specialty "Publishing and Editing".

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

STUDENT GOVERNMENT journalism

The main directions of work of the student council:

  • organization and holding of planned university-wide events ("Here we are" "Miss and Mr of the Faculty", etc.);
  • charity events (fundraising for the "Malyatko" orphanage and the "Zaporuka" foundation - a center for helping children with cancer, fundraising to support the "Zooplatform" animal shelter);
  • carrying out activities aimed at facilitating the process of adaptation of first-year students in higher education institutions (coordinators' school, meeting with freshmen);
  • support of thematic holidays (New Year, Valentine's Day, International Women's Day, etc.).

061.00.05 International Journalism

Bachelor’s degree, unitary, 240 ECTS credits, term of study – 3 years 10 months.

Preparation of a specialist in the field of International Journalism, who has necessary knowledge of social and political life of Ukraine and media specificity at home and abroad, as well as practical skills to succeed in current media market.

According to the National Occupational Classification DK 003:2010 the graduates of the program “International Journalism” qualify for the position – 2451.2 Journalist.

The possibility to apply for the second (master) level.

061.00.02 Advertising and Public Relations

Bachelor’s degree, unitary, 240 ECTS credits, term of study – 3 year 10 months.

To provide students profound education in journalism with wide access to employment; to prepare students for activities in the field of advertising and public relations able to fulfill administrative organizational, projecting, communicative, advertising-informative, market researching and forecasting-analytical functions; to form the appropriate competencies for further education and development.

Graduates of the specialty 061 Journalism can be employed in:

-press services, public relations departments of state authorities and local self-government, political parties;

- advertising, consulting, communication, marketing, digital, event agencies;

- mass media;

- departments of advertising, marketing and public relations in business structures, institutions of social-cultural spheres. 

Ability to gain second (master’s) level od education.

061.00.03 Publishing and Editing

 

Provide education in journalism with broad access to employment in the field of publishing and editing, prepare students with a special interest in further education.

The Bachelor of Journalism in the program for publishing and editing can find employment in modern publishing houses, publishing houses and media editions in the following positions:

-Editor of multimedia editions of the mass-media

- Executive Secretary of the Editorial Board

- literaly editor

- editor of printed editions

- Organizer for the marketing of publishing products. 

Ability to pursue on the second (master’s) level of the education.

061.00.01 Journalism

Bachelor’s degree, unitary, 240 ECTS credits, term of study – 3 year 10 months.

Preparations of a specialist in the field of Journalism, who has necessary knowledge of social and political life of Ukraine and abroad, as well as practical skills to succeed on current media market.

A specialist is trained to work in the areas of the following economic activities: Production of films and videos, television programs, publication of recordings; Activities in radio and television broadcasting; Provision of information services; Research market conditions and public opinion surveys; Activities in photography; NGO Activities.

Master’s degree, unitary, 90 ECTS credits term of study 1 year and 4 months.

Preparation of a specialist in the field of communication studies who is equipped with the knowledge and pratical skills to create one’s own media product.

A graduate of this program is applicable to the following jobs: Host of a show, Editor, Production Editor, Journalist, Journalist of multimedia editions, Corresponding author, Analyst, Political analyst, Member of the (editorial) board, Media Manager Information, Manager Communications, PR Manager,

Possibility to study at the third (educational-scientific) level. Additional professional qualification at in-service training facilities.

061.00.01 Journalism

Master’s degree, unitary, 90 ECTS credits term of study 1 year and 4 months.

Preparation of a specialist in the field of communication studies studies who is equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to create one’s own media product.

A graduate of this program is applicable to the following jobs: Specialist in Information and Information Policies and Analytics, Host of a program, Content editor/coordination, Journalist of multimedia Outlets, Commentator, Corresponding author, Special Correspondent, Broadcast news Analyst, Member of the editorial board.

Possibility to study at the third (educational-scientific) level. Additional professional qualification at in-service training facilities.

061.00.02 Advertising and Public Relations

Master’s degree, unitary, 90 ECTS credits term of study 1 year and 4 months.

In-depth training of specialists in the field of advertising and public relations, readiness to solve complex problems, problems in professional activity with the help of innovative forms and means of managing communication processes.

Jobs in advertising and PR-agencies; press-services of enterprises and authorities of various levels; printed and electronic mass media; election campaign headquarters.

Ability to study according to the program of the third cycle for obtaining a scientific degree of the Doctor of Philosophy.

061.00.06 Content-producing of digital media projects

Master’s degree, unitary, 90 ECTS credits term of study 1 year and 4 months.

To train specialists, ready to manage digital projects effectively, to produce and realize new ideas in the industries, to launch and promote digital media products.

Job positions in modern media (journalist, head/manager of a media holding, media project, online-structure); content-manager, content editor, in Internet-editions, informational agencies, media departments of any organizations (editor of programs).

Education at the third (academic scientific) level of higher education.
