On 17th March, students of the Institute of Philology attended guest lecture "Implementation of modern world experience teaching foreign languages for specific purposes in higher educational institutions of Ukraine" by Katherine Woddell, lecturer of the chair of Methodology of teaching foreign languages for specific purposes Thompson Rivers University, Canada.

For over 15 years of teaching ESP (English for Special Purposes) Katherine Woddell developed and implemented in training specialized programs studying English for such disciplines as: education, social work, psychology and others. This year, she visited Kyiv at the Third Annual International Forum Language Teachers FLT Forum 2017, on March 15-16.

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University students got a unique opportunity to listen a lecture by Mrs. Woddell about techniques and peculiarities of teaching English as a foreign language for specific purposes, held with the support representative “Alec” company – Oleg Babenko and joint efforts of SRL of internationalization of higher education and the Institute of Philology.

From 1 to 4 March 2017 professor of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Hristo Kaftandzhyyev within the lectures met with students and teachers of the Institute of Journalism.

The first day of the visit, he presented with the lecture "Archetypes in marketing communications." The next lecture meetings Hristo Kaftandzhyyev revealed the promotion of modern communication world, the role of semiotics, images and symbols in modern advertising and so on. In his lectures professor cited examples from films, promotional videos and architecture.

Students of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Media School and the International Certificate Training Program "Communication Security" were lucky to meet well-known expert in advertising and marketing communications Hristo Kaftandzhyyevym. On March 4, participants had the opportunity listed to the lectures about the peculiarities of advocacy and communication.

During the final lecture on March 4, head of the chair of Advertising and Public Relations Novokhatko Leonid and Associate Professor, Alexander Kurban thanked to Hristo Kaftandzhyyev and presented him with Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University certificate for theprofessional excellence.
